How to transfer files from Windows XP to Mac os x 10.4.11?

If you're transferring the usual assortment of files (text, photo, audio, video, etc.), just use a USB flash drive. It will be factory-formatted for use with PCs, and the iMac can read/write to FAT-formatted volumes. Otherwise, you could burn the files to a DVD, assuming that the PC has an internal DVD±RW drive or you have an external burner to connect for the purpose. Because you mentioned the Pro speakers, the iMac probably shipped with a DVD-ROM/CD-RW "Combo" Drive. I wouldn't advise using DVD±RW disks or Double-Layer disks, and the choice between a DVD+R or DVD-R disk may affect whether the DVD-ROM drive can read the disk. Obviously, Windows XP programs or program-specific files can't run on a PowerPC processor-based iMac running Tiger.
